Thanks Kalle, I think you’re right. I was hoping there was an quicker way to do it. Cheers.

Hi Dave, yes I have. It looks a bit messy, that’s why I thought it was some sort of automated effect. I’ve exported a couple of image sequences examples from the video for you to have a look if you like. You can find them here: https://we.tl/BSHnTUzPt9

Thanks Michael, I’ll try both ways (23.976 to 25 and viceversa) and see what’s best as you suggested.

What do you mean by “In Compressor you need to change frame rate without changing duration.” ?
I thought that that’s what Compressor would normally do when converting footage into a different frame rate. Are there special setting I need to be aware of?

Thanks a lot for your help.

Yeah, I thought that getting the shadows right could’ve been the main issue here. I’ll give it a try and see if it’s doable, otherwise I’ll just do without. Thanks a lot to you both for the advice and Philip for the detailed explanation.

I tried bothways, using the circle effect and using a mask. However, using the circle effect I could not get the fading happen with an elliptical shape, only with a perfectly round shape and it looks a bit awkward, as the sides of the screen take too long to fade in. Is there any way to change the circle to an ellipse? Am I missing something really simple?

However, the mask worked pretty well and the gradient wipe effect allowed me to do exactly what I wanted, with the highlights fading in first.

    Thanks a lot again.

Thank you both. Was away for a few days and I’m seeing the replies only now. I’ll give it a try in the next few days, cheers.

Thanks Kevin, that’s quite a good idea. How would you do that two?
My AE skills are limited and, although I understand how to crop the text leaving only that line visible, using a mask, how would you reveal the lines and dots in the first place?
I guess it might look okay if I animate their length, but how do I make them independent from the rest of the text?

Thank you all for your suggestions. I’m going to try out a few of the things you entioned and see how I can improve it.

I kind of like its simplicity though, so I don’t want to add many things to it. I’m mostly after an improvement of the reveal and animation. I was kind of happy with the look, but I’m going to try the opacity thing, seems like a good idea.

    Hi John,

Thank you very much for your thorough reply. I have downloaded your project file and now I’m gonna make some tests. One first question would be how did you get to make the ends of your line so round? I have set the option to “round caps” but they look more oval than round on my line. I can’t figure it out.
