  • sorry so late to this, I am sure it is resolved but I remember there was a version of the camera that was identical but just did not have the progressive elements built into it. maybe this was the problem..
    just a thought.

I get the work flow thing and yeah he is going to try to get some extra cards. I understand that those cards are going to go really fast..
We did not know if we were going to get that camera until last minute for budget reasons (as in he can get it free).

Normally I would play around with it first.
I am more just confused with which format to shoot in. I am leaning towards the 720p24n or 30n since if I need to undercrank or overcrank I can do that. and it will save space on the cards.
we will have an edit system on set most of the time or we will not be to far from it. so I am not to worried there. it is more the format I shoot in.

I guess I am wondering really what advantage I will have shooting 1080i24/30p over 720p24/30pn

I would look for the tutorial on how they did the Ipod commercial where they are painting I think it is on here somewhere but really it is mostly a tracking thing. I am not sure you are going to be able to really pull this off in FCP I think you might need motion or AfterEffects to get what you are looking for. If you can do it in FCP in the end you will wish you didn’t..

with some tracking some strokes and some creative masks this is really not that tough.
