Adi, I really don’t see why any of that is relevant anymore. Yes, everyone has their own opinion and what not, but Ron and I have come to a conclusion and I don’t think it needs an further discussion. All you are doing is enticing others to argue your points.

Anyway, thank you all for your help. It seems that there are many reasons for the poor video quality, mainly the compression format and my monitor. QT Animation files seem to look the most accurate.

I did look through the options in my nVidia control panel and found that the normal color correction options do not apply to videos. I had to adjust the video color settings separately.

Everything appears to be working fine now. Thanks again!

I believe this issue has been resolved. It would be wise to not add fuel to the flame. Besides, I have already explained my reasoning behind that statement, which as I admitted, was an unfair conclusion about iPod users.

Um, excuse me, but I don’t really see what you’re talking about. The only time I ever mentioned Apple on my website is in my entry about the Creative Zen in which I state that most iPod users only bought iPods so they can say “Hey, look! I have an iPod!”. I’m wasn’t being a PC fanboy. I was speaking from experience. I know 4 people who bought iPods, simply because of the “cool commercials”.

And, as I said before, I only made my original comment to keep OTHERS from bringing fanboy-like comment to this thread, simply because I wasn’t sure at the time how “adult” the people around here were. Like you, I simply won’t put up with it anymore.

Now, look. I am sorry for the misunderstood comment that I made. But, let’s not start taking shots at each other here.

I’m fairly certain the settings are correct. I haven’t changed anything like that, nor can I find any places to change them.

However, I did run the nVidia color calibration wizard not long ago. It adjusts my monitor’s color settings whenever the nVidia Control Panels runs. Could it be that the color calibration doesn’t work with videos?

Regardless of how it may have appeared, I was in no way trying to be a “PC fanboy”. It’s been my experience that any time something from Apple just works, I get responses like “Of course it does! ‘Cause Windows sucks!”. Perhaps I misjudged the maturity of your community. It’s not often that I find a forum where people actually act like adults.

Thanks! I just downloaded Quicktime and rendered the project to a Quicktime Animation and everything appears to be normal. The video is pretty choppy, so I guess I need to choose a different compression format.

Anyway, is there any obvious reason why Quicktime is the only output format that doesn’t screw up my colors? (and don’t say “Because it’s made my Apple”)

Nope. The Color Management tab in the Output Module settings dialog says that it’s off.
