Did you set the camera to shoot HD or NTSC?

If you’re sure you shot HD, do not downconvert the video during playback. If you shot it in HDV, play it back and import it as HDV

Make sure your video playback is set to HD? Your HDV might be greyed because it’s only getting an NTSC signal from the camera?

    To import I used 1080p24.

The sequence settings I use are: HDV 1080p24, Aspect ratio 1440×1080.

I have never printed to video, so I unfortunately cannot help in that area.

There are many possible settings for a your Quicktime file. It all depends on what you need it for: DVD, streaming etc.

I’ve never had the audio out of sync. The audio settings I use are:
    48kHz
    16 bit

    I hope I was helpful.

    Good luck.

I got some bad advice from Canon helpline. Following their advice I set the camera to playback in Down Convert mode. Once I switched back to HDV Final Cut had no problem recognizing the camera.

The advice from this board has been amazing helpful. Thank you everyone for all you input.

Thanks, that helpful. The only problem now is Final Cut will not recognize the Canon when the project is set-up for HD. However, no problem with the Canon if it’s an SD project. Any thoughts?

    Best,
    David

There are two choices for 1080i 50 or 60. Which one?

    Thanks,
