I wish someone would answer this…. this is why I prefer to use FCP7. It’s so much more user friendly with many if not more of the features Premiere Pro has. Resizing objects on multiple tracks has been incredibly frustrating for me as well. Unfortunately, the newer Mac Operating Systems are going to support FCP7 less and less (so characteristic of greedy Apple), which is why I’m trying to get used to Premiere Pro. But it certainly seems to have some significant drawbacks.

I’m having this same issue. It’s completely ridiculous. I have two sound people who know what they’re doing, and none of us can figure out why neither FCP7 or Premiere Pro are such completely incompetent programs for live recording via a board with a usb to our computer. Ended up just recording to the H4 by itself, but can’t use my computer as a back up clearly. The internet has nearly no answers for this.

Yours was the most helpful piece of information here. I’ve tried everything to get a graphic with a transparent background from photoshop into AE. Over and over, no matter how much I play with the “web and devices” settings in Photoshop, as soon as I import these graphics into AE, you see a white background framing them. No one explained why this is, or why it doesn’t happen in Apple Motion, but certainly, saving as a psd file and importing it that way into AE made the difference. Transparency all around

Thank you both. Seems I wasn’t clicking just to the left of Transform on the Add or remove Key Frame at Current Time in order for AF to register the position before it the next animation.

Thank you both so much for your suggestions! I had a feeling it was going to come down to getting the anchor point right. I’ll definitely try the Mesh Warp on the leaves! Very helpful

I hope you got this figured out by now, but for those seeing this forum for the first time who don’t have time to look through tutorials and need an easy answer (life is exhaustively hectic enough as it is) I’ve had great success with minimal loss of quality with DVCPRO HD for converting 7D footage to be acceptable for the FCP7 sequence. Under “Settings” in Compressor, go to the folder that says High Definition. Works perfectly. If you shoot in 720p, obviously use the DVCPRO HD 720p24 etc. Just thought a quick answer might be the most helpful to others.

It’s pretty sad that no one has chosen to answer this post. This is kind of really important information and it’s also something currently happening to me right now and it’s happened to several others I know. It’s not a matter of media assets going offline nor of not saving things in the correct folders. This just happens and it seems to be completely arbitrary. This is why from now on I’m switching to Adobe Premiere. FCP7 is a major let down, and it’s taken me 4 years of editing with it to realize it just doesn’t cut it if you want to protect all your video assets and not have random errors like this happen.

To Jerry, yes, sorry for my lack of clarity. The video gets cropped so places I thought were title safe, are not, so captions will be cut off here and there, parts of words in the powerpoint of course, and parts of the footage which I thought were all lined up properly in fc, have parts cropped out that I didn’t see when I played the video on my computer, but noticed once I watched it on a television.
