“Old skool” Like it. If there’s no other way of doing it, I guess I have to!

    Thanks.

  • Well after many troubles, headaches and trying different ‘work-a-rounds’, I found what the problem was…

It seems my old CS6 install was affecting Adobe CC.
After a recent clean install of my system I no longer have the problem 🙂

Not sure how anyone else would resolve this, Hopefully someone will have an idea of how to completely clean out CS6 without having to do a complete clean Windows re-install.

Thanks to everyone for taking the time to reply.

  • Bug report, Re-Reported

  • Well there was an update Today/Yesterday…

AND T STILL NOT FIXED 🙁

  • Still haven’t heard or seen any “Fixes” yet 🙁
This is now costing me time! (Which equals Money)

  • Will do 🙂

  • You can also read these entries in the meta-data if you HEX edit an MOV file rendered from AE. The problem is with PPro CC not reading this meta-data.
So, “Edit orginal” should read this XML entry and open up the corresponding AE project.

I’ve subbed a bug report… Hopefully a ‘Fix’ will be out soon.

Thanks for your input duder 🙂

  • I tried the whole work-flow from scratch and it still doesn’t work.

    Here’s what used to happen:
    Premiere
    1. Load clips on to Timeline
    2. Select (one or more) Clip(s), Right-Click > Replace with After Effects Comp…
    3. AE Loads a creates a comp with clip(s)in

    After Effect
    4. Do your effects/edits
    5. Render as a MOV file with “Include Project Link” Ticked
    6. [Optional] Save and close AE

    Premiere
    7. Swap out AE comp on timeline with the newly rendered .MOV file
    8. Right-Click MOV file in timline and select “Edit Original”
    9. AE Opens and loads the Linked Comp…

Everything works up until step 8, where as now just the MOV file loads in WMP instead of opening the AE project.
Of course if you keep the linked AE comp (Step 7) that still works. But, I don’t want to render these in PP everytime. Having the rendered MOV files is faster!

    … A BUG Maybe?

  • Thanks for taking to time to reply Alex but,…

That’s not the problem 🙁 QT files have always been associated with WMP. And the only upgrade/update on this box was to Adobe CC.
No, the problem is with the Adobe progs and how ‘Project Link’ works within them.

I need to re-associate Premiere with AE through these MOV files via ‘Edit Original’

  • Sorry for not getting back sooner Dan…

But, Thanks… Just what I needed.
