Oops. You asked about audio. I’m previewing audio through either of two Windows sound cards. One’s a Soundblaster, the other’s a Pro-level interface, the RME Digiface, which is sending ADAT lightpipe signals to my digital audio mixing console, a Panasonic WR-DA7. I run a pro audio studio.

Thanks, but that would actually confuse things worse. The timeline playback is out of sync, but the renders I make from the timeline are fine. So, if I sync it up as seen/heard from timeline playback, it would actually be out of sync in real life. I need to do something to bring the timeline playback sync “calibration” back into “sync” with real life. :^)

Not sure what you’re asking about project settings. Which settings are you interested in? I’m happy to report back.

The project is a “demo reel” of various things I’ve done over the years, so there’s a mixed bag of codecs to deal with with the original files. For compatibility and to make the seek times more usable in Premiere, I converted the original video files into more Premiere-friendly formats. There are now a few different codecs in use, though they all seem to seek just fine (with cursor scrubbing). The most-noticeable sync issue is with a DV file that I rendered in Sound Forge. It’s a few frames out. It was rendered using the Matrox DV/DVCAM codec on my system, and I’m running this session in “Matrox mode”, so I don’t understand why there would be an issue.

BTW, there’s no drift that I’m aware of; starting playback from anywhere on the timeline shows the same sync disparity. However, an MPEG-2 rendered from the timeline is synced fine, so it’s apparently purely a play-from-the-timeline-in-Premiere issue.

Hmmm… I just remembered that I’ve never done the capture sync test. Would that impact timeline playback sync?
