    Favourite Publish string so far:

    $j$P/$q

Perfect for an organised catalogue structure!

    Thx Bob!

This is perfect! Combined with $P it puts all the catalogues in the correct folder also.

Steep learning curve but endless fun.

    OK worked it out:)

Use $P in the publish box. Provided that under the Trigger yab the “Watch Folder” box is the same as the “Relative To” box.

Next Question…How to auto create a catalogue for each folder 1 level below the Watch Folder….Hmm

    Any suggestions?

April 3, 2015 at 2:08 am in reply to: Moving Multiple Catalogs in CatDV

I am also having the exact issue. I created a few thousand catalogues that I now need to move to another production group.

Doing it within catalogue browser is only a one by one affair which is just not practical…. Drag n dropping one by one in the client is also labourous.

I’m surprised there is not an option to select multiple catalogues in the catalogue browser to facilitate bulk editing.

Support were helpful in suggesting the “move to a” catalogue in the publish box in worker. With the right server query parameters this does work. Very slow but at least automated.

Look forward to a better option.

November 15, 2012 at 3:51 pm in reply to: CS6/Decklink Lag on Mac

This is a known issue that has been with decklink cards for at least the 8 years that we have been using them.

The processing on the cards seems to delay the video and audio by 4 frames. This is why Fcp has a 4 frame delay built into their setup, to delay the computer monitor video by the same 4 frames, so that it matches your broadcast monitor.

In Fcp the 4 frame delay setting is under system settings and then select the playback tab…viola.

This keeps your playhead and your computer video in line with the decklink video/audio output.

In cs6 there doesn’t seem to be a delay solution that I can find.

Solution…buy a aja kona card. They are a little more expensive but have no noticeable delay.
