You can just add a vector to the position of the sun:
thisComp.layer("sun.ai").transform.position + [0,10]This will add 0 pixels to the x value and 10 pixels to the y value. If your sun is a 3D layer (which it probably isn’t or you’d have even more issues using a 2D effect to reference it) you will need to add
[0, 10, 0]to the position.Darby Edelen

[djelder] “Basically because it’s on a sphere, I feel it would be very hard to achieve what I’m looking to achieve.”
Actually, because you’re dealing with a sphere I think it would be much easier to achieve. If I understood what you’re trying to do then all you really need to do is set the camera’s point of interest to the center of the sphere. Then as you move the camera around in 3D space it will constantly re-orient itself to be facing the sphere (and consequently one of the sphere’s faces).
I’m not sure how the script sets things up, but it shouldn’t be too hard to create a 3D null and use that to control the location of the center of the sphere, then use an expression to link that null’s location to the camera’s point of interest.

That looks a lot like Trapcode’s Shine plug-in. http://www.trapcode.com

[Aaron D Hose] “This would allow you to move your pen tool around, and give you an accurate idea of where your next point would be before you create it.”
I hate to give such a simple response that doesn’t really answer your question, but your next point would be wherever you click the pen tool =/ As far as a preview is concerned, really how helpful is a straight line from your last point to the potential location of your next one?

[QueJet] “Are there any plugins, or really anything, that would give me more control over the alpha channel of layers in photoshop?”
What kind of control are you looking for? You can access Alpha Channels in the layers pallete’s “Channels” tab.

To expand on my post, I believe that filmmakers are somewhat protected from copyright infringement if the capturing of copyrighted images/sounds is entirely incidental. If you’re filming on the street and a Coca-Cola truck happens to drive by, for example. However, this wouldn’t apply to your situation as you could obviously avoid recording a radio in a controlled environment.

That depends on who you are, what you’re doing the film for and how you add the radio sound.
If you’re a student doing a project exclusively for school, for example, then you can pretty much get away with anything.
If this is a professional undertaking, or will be shown publicly, then you need to be concerned with copyrighted broadcasts and music. I would recommend, in this case, to add the radio noise/music entirely in post-production with royalty free (and make sure it’s really royalty free for all uses) music/sound effects.

[AdamMc] “Just for future reference, should mp3’s be converted because they click by any chance.”
Most professional programs aren’t designed to work smoothly with mp3s as they are highly compressed. It’s like using an MPEG-4 for compositing, just not good practice (and slow due to AE needing to deal with the compression).
As far as clicking in the audio, that’s usually a problem with the audio sample rate of the file, you should almost always use 48kHz.

Does the audio sound like this when you preview it in AE (period on the numpad) or only when you render it out?
Unless you’re linking audio to actions (or vice versa) onscreen via expressions or SoundKeys I recommend making your visuals in AE and composing the sound in another program like Audition.

You’d have to put your composition into another composition, turn time-remapping on (cmd-opt-t on Mac, ctrl-alt-t on PC)then create an expression on the time-remap (alt-click the keyframe stopwatch) and enter:
loopOut()You’ll also need to reduce the last time-remap keyframe by 1 frame (for a 15 second comp change from 15;00 to 14;29, the last frame of a comp is empty) and move it back in the timeline one frame.
