Sorry, can you run me through exactly how to apply the effect to the entire media file? Here’s a rundown of my specific problem to give you an idea of what I need.
Vegas is doing something really weird where it is saving all my edits on the timeline, but it is replacing the targeted media file with another file I’m using. For instance, all my edits for “tape 2.avi” on the timeline are still there, but they are now drawing from “tape 1.avi”. Obviously that is a problem and the resulting video is non-sensical. What I need to be able to do is reconstitute my project basically from scratch. I would like to be able to look at the “corrupted” timeline and be able to take notes as follows: ok, I made an edit at the 6:37 mark, let that play for 12 seconds, and then made another edit at the 6:49 mark of the file. That way I can start from scratch with a new tape 2 edit but have notations of all the edits I already figured out.
An “absolute” timecode on the media file itself would allow me to make these notes, rather than the “relative” timecode that starts over each event at 0:00.

I just checked – Vegas Pro 9! Strange… I’ve got Track-at once audio cd, disc at once audio cd, video cd, multimedia cd, and blu-ray disc as options.

In Vegas, would that be Tools->Burn Disc->Video Disc? That doesn’t sound quite right. It’s not giving me a DVD option anywhere I can find.
