In the Vegas text, there is a parameter for spacing in small incriments. If each line needs different spacing to match width, you can just add another track for those lines with different spacing.

Vegas won’t see it even if you change the file extention from .vob to .mpg?

Thanks. Is this any different than setting your deinterlace method to interpolate? They look exactly the same to me.

If you didn’t backlight your subject with at least 6 feet between them and the greenscreen, then Vegas isn’t going to get you the results you want. If you can’t reshoot, Try and find someone with Adobe CS5. CS5 Premiere now has Ultra key as a plugin. I have been able to get great keys with it with footage that would have been considered unkeyable. After Effects CS5 has Keylight, which is probably the best around in my opinion but alot harder to learn. Both could probably get you an acceptible key.

Yes, make sure you install Vegas on your C drive and capture all your audio and video media on a second drive. I’ve never heard of a triple core before. But I also have the Panasonic TM700. You have one of the best cameras without spending at least a few grand in my opinion. The 1080 60p video is unreal looking, best I’ve seen, but your going to need an i7 quadcore to get the video preview you want, especially with the 60p. I built one for under a grand and it edits the 60p like butter. With this highly compresssed video format, you’ll be lucky to get a few frames per second, even set to preview auto or even draft. I personaly don’t need to have a very high preview rate to edit, If I have an edit that has to be frame accurate, I can do spot renders for those little sections and see them full framerate.
I recommend you get an i7 920 or better. Windows 7 64 bit aw well as a 64bit version of Vegas, Pro 10 works with our AVCHD files much better than older versions. I know it may be a chunk of money to get these, but you will be very glad you did when you watch your TM700s 1080 60p videos. I use Windows Media Player Classic and I can watch the native 1080 60p .mts files perfectly smooth.
I had to make a custom project setting to accomidate the 60p so if you not doing that with your version, I think it’s treating it as a 1080 60i, not 60p. You have a fantastic camera there. I absolutly love mine. Danny Hays, Universal studios FL

Copy the .vob files from the DVD to your hard drive with Windows Explorer, change the extention to .mpg on the .vob files, Open vegas and click on one of the files in the explorer tab within Vegas, and at the bottom of that tab it will tell you the properties of that file and if it’s interlaced or not. I think all DVD mpegs are interlaced but i’m not sure.
You can have Vegas deinterlace it by setting your project settings to Progressive frame, deinterlace method to blend. The visable interlacing should not be seen now. Render as progressive as well. By the way, there is no reason to convert the vob files to uncompressed avi as it won’t increase the quality since it was already compressed as an mpeg to get on the DVD.

Thanks for that 10,000 GDI object limit and fix post Stephen. That’s going to help me in the future I’m sure.

I had a similar problem importing 14000 targa files, each 6 meg. I think it is too much data for Vegas to digest and even as an image seq, it would lock up. I ended up doing as you are and importing 100 at a time and still had to do the project in halves. After about 7000, it wouldn’t take any more, so I rendered as uncompressed and did the rest the same way and then pulled both uncompressed avi’s in and rendered to my final format.
