So I found out something interesting I’ve never seen before. I inspected the original T3i file using VLC player and discovered that the actual frame rate before converting to ProRes is 29.97003. I had no way of knowing this before since every other software that gives specs…tells me it’s 29.97. Could this minor decimal be throwing me off?

If so…what’s the best way to convert 29.97003 to 29.97?

All framerates are matching. When changing the sample rate from 44.1 to 48…should the duration of the audio change?

  • I tried a self contained file, and I get the same results. Within 30 seconds it gives me an estimate that it will take atleast 18 hours. It has always taken about half that time in the past. Regardless, when I added the self contained file to compressor I still couldn’t get it to export more than a few gigabytes and even sometimes it is stuck on “waiting” and never gets past 1%.
