  • Important Caveat

I didn’t realise that Media Encoder’s watch folder moves source files into a “source” folder when complete.

This meant all of my rushes have been moved out of their original Alexa file structure and into All/Source

With Alexa rushes following a fairly simple naming structure it was reasonably easy to put them back into the right place afterwards – but be aware of this (which partially defeats the purpose of the original solution)

I’ve had the same problem. I’ve found switching the scaling mode to bilinear resolves the white lines. Which is not optimal, as it is a lesser quality scaling algorithm.

  • Our workflow is almost completely digital and we have as little to do with tape formats as possible. We are also likely to have a separate consumer grade surround speaker system in place for clients playing guitar hero, checking dvds etc. So the flexibility of an amp is kind of redundant – I’m assuming here that a good pair of active speakers is going to be better than/cost about the same as a mediocre amp and speaker combo.

We have numerous pairs of sennheiser HD25 headphones which are pretty good for reference.

The audio that really matters will invariably be going through a sound house. I’m looking for a pair of speakers that will give good performance relatively cheaply – something that can be relied upon to give an accurate portrayal of the audio and not sound too bad at the same time.
