encore CS6 is capable to create BD-50 on dual-layer-media. blu-ray layerbreak is seamless, so you don´t need to care about its position.

do you used copressor to transcode your movie to mpeg2-files? if so, they should be dvd-spec-complient and will ve shown as “not transcode” within the project-window. dvd-complient files will get the file-ending .m2v

Which version of PP are you using?

I know it’s possible to bring FCP-chaptermarker into encore via PP, but I couln’t check the workflow again, as I’m on vacation and writing from my ipad.

you should export the final film from within FCP, then also export the xml containing the chaptermaker. make sure the markers are ALL set as chaptermarker.

then use the dynamic linking from PP to encore. but check the markers within the premiere-project as well before you do this.

why dont you use dts hd ma? I dont see a reason to use the loosy dts hd – exept disc-space…

encore is very limited, that could be the reason it wont work.

I double-check my authoring-work…

sometimes sony vs panasonic interpreting IG-graphics in a different way, so you need to have a look for some of the IG-commands agian to take care they would work on both of them.

that´s what I do…

what kind of BD did you create? BD25 or BD50? I know a few older players, that doesn´t like both – only replicated ones.

I also had a brand new panasonic BD3D-player that doesn´t exept BD-R/BD-RE after 3 month. appears to be a laser-problem within some players…. 🙁

you should ask your customer about the name of the manifacturer…maybe that could give you a clue!

bu the way – which programm did you use for BD-authoring?

standalone-player could act very different – I have a panasonic, sony and philips stand-alone-player over here (2D + 3D). I figured out that especially sony and panasonic could react different and so you´ll get a good QC if you have both of them.

I just tested it over here again – MAC Encore CS6 on 10.8.5 with DTS HD MA have been working well.

tested with compressor-created H264 1080p23.98 and DTS MAS2.6-suite with 5.1-audiofiles.

Hey Walt,
no – there is no set for parameters at 2MBit that I could advice, but if you just have static pictures it should work.

IF you would like to put your WMVs on the disc as well, you could create a DVD-ROM-folder and put all the rom-stuff like html-pages, pdfs or WMV/flash-files in it and finally burn it to the disc.

the simple answer is NO – it wont run in US-based players.

25fps is MANDATORY only for PAL-lands…., which mean: europe, australia, and in some countries of africa.

so, if you need to create a internatioal BD, you should do it 23.976, 24fps or you need to create a 29.98fps-disc, which is a big mess.

Video-DVD is specified as follow:

1.) NTSC 720x480px 29.98fps
2.) PAL (720×576)px 25fps

could be 16:9 or 4:3

nothing else is specified, so reallity will kill your illusion – sorry for that.

IF you like to keep HD-quality you should use blu-ray.
