Are they both the same length?

Squeeze 6 was only announced today, as such it would be impossible to make a fair comparison between it and anything else, however Episode Pro still has the lead on it for format support, and much higher quality pre-processing tools.

[Craig Seeman] “The basic version of Episode is about the same as Squeeze”

    ?? Not in my opinion.

[Dan Schonberg] “I got a video here at Creative Cow (Internet killed the video star by aaron rabinowitz) that gave me the impression it was one of the best if not the best”

A lot of people got that (wrong) impression.

Sorenson is not an enterprise level product, as such it’s highly unlikely that anyone will have built a farm using it, however it’ll be very easy to take your settings and apply them to a product that is used as a farm; like Rhozet Carbon Coder or Episode Engine.

That said, the cost of someone doing this for you is likely to exceed the cost of a single licence of Sorenson, depending of course on the number of hours you need doing.

Any particular reason you settled on Squeeze?

Sorry, I was looking at the wrong thing, I needed to look at the full sized picture.

I’ve never seen anything like that before and can offer no solution.

Have you tried a lower quality upsizing method?

Looks like dirt, like something on the lens to me. Why are you up-rez’ing them?

November 2, 2009 at 7:36 pm in reply to: Suggested bitrate for H.264 streams

[Adam White] “What are your thoughts on what would be the ideal kbps to enable streaming on a range of Broadband connections – is 1,000kbps still too high to play smoothly on a variety of connection speeds”

What exactly do you mean by streaming? Delivered from a true streaming server or by progressive download, as you see on Apple’s movie trailer site?

If you want to dictate the quality, progressive download is the only way to go and 1Mb/s is fine.

October 30, 2009 at 10:30 am in reply to: Compressor: Why do deinterlace controls matter?

[Ryan Atkins] “So could this be saying that you just need to test for your self to see which method outputs better quality? “

No, I think it says ‘don’t use the crappy deinterlace filter that we’ve kept in for old times sake’. Even the ‘Fast’ deinterlace method in that same box will give you much better results than the filter.
