    Thanks Mads
The organization sponsoring these events isnt quite sure how the material will be utilized although most likely it will be for the web. But you never know. Thanks for your info, I’ll pass it along

    Thanks John
im also considering using the cineroid viewfinder – have you used that? i tested it and was impressed

id love to use the zeiss zoom but i dont know if i can locate one in time

have you heard anything about the angenieux optimo zooms? – they have a 15-40 that might be close to the zeiss

im also considering the nano flash to improve upon the 8 bit 4:2:0 35MBPS that the F3 offers so that i could bump it up to 10 bit 4:2:2 100MBPS – that way id have the SXS cards as temporary back up and the nano CF cards as the “master” footage

    any thoughts on that?

Again, great info Tom. Do you know anything about the Panasonic AG-AF100 / AF101?
Its Panasonic’s answer to the Canon 5D/7D craze with a 4/3″ chip and interchangeable lenses
i dont know how it would perform as a handheld camera but it looks pretty intriguing for about $5G

Thats great info Tom. What was the main improvement from the 200a to the HPX170?
I also have a need for a high end smaller format camera to take on a possible trip to India so Im really trying to satisfy two needs here – one for the 2 camera shoot with the HDX and the other to get the best image i can out of a smaller camera for a short doc in India – im also considering using a 35 adapter with the smaller camera, whatever that may be.

    Thanks John
I just spoke to the DP in Israel

He has chosen a sony EXCAM and is shooting at 720p/24p to match my 720p/24p footage shot here in the states on the hdx900

My 2 concerns about that are:

    1. if he shoots at 24p under the 50hz lights both fluorescent and otherwise in israel – will he not get that pulsation/flicker problem?

    2. will there be any compatibility issues in post for mixing footage shot on the HDX900, HVX200 with P2 cards and now the sony EXCAM on the sony card technology?

Thanks for your reply – I so appreciate it

    Hi Nikolas

As you might imagine – this is very good news to hear. One additional question: will there be ANY perceptible difference to this footage in its appearance as compared to the 720P/24p footage already shot?

Thanks again for your time and reply

    best-
    Dan
