    Many apologies to Chris. I reviewed the captured footage and the red frames WERE there in the captured footage. He’s absolutely correct. I just missed them.
    Problem solved.

    AMD Quad core, 8 GB RAM
    Four 1TB HDD. One for O.S. (Vista 64 bit), one for scratch, one for video files, one for backup. (no RAID, all SATA2)

    I’m not sure about this since the red frames weren’t present when I originally started editing the clip.

    Perhaps there are other errors in my situation. However, I DID get many random red frames or random red pixels in my project.
    I don’t use any programs/plugins other than CS5.
    I have a very capable machine.
