Ok, well it looks like I celebrated prematurely. Here is the email I got from our colorist:

Hi Daniel,

The EDLs you attached read exactly as the previous EDLs:

011 AX V C 00:00:05:01 00:00:06:13 01:00:01:12 01:00:02:27
* FROM CLIP NAME: 0002U7.COPY.01
————

The “FROM CLIP NAME: 0002U7.COPY.01 ” corresponds to the P2 Card
Filename: “0002U7.MXF”

We need the EDL to reference the Avid Clip Filename.

For example, something like:

011 AX V C 00:00:05:01 00:00:06:13 01:00:01:12 01:00:02:27

Nevermind, I figured it out!

All I had to do was add the CAMROLL and LABROLL to the headings display in the bin. Then they showed when I selected ‘duplicated column.’ I then selected LABROLL instead of TAPE in the EDL Manager and I think I’m good to go. Your help was invaluable.

Michael,

LABROLL and CAMROLL are not options in the menu. All I have are:
COMMENTS
DESCRIPTION
SCENE
TAKE
TAPE
UNC PATH

I duplicated the column with the filenames and copied to the “Comments” column, but could not copy to the “Tape” column. When I copied to the “Tape” column I got the error: “No modifiable entries in column ‘Tape'”

Can the Davinci read the filenames out of the “Comments” section? How do I copy to LABROLL or CAMROLL columns?
