    Was anyone able to find a solution here? I’m experiencing the same issue.

    I downloaded an AVC1 MPEG-4 clip from Shutterstock but can’t figure out a way to convert it to ProRes 422 to work in FCP. I’ve tried Compressor and MPEG Streamclip, but neither seem to work.

    The clip plays in VCL but I only get black when I open with QT.

    I’ve heard QT Pro 7 or Bigasoft might work, but I would prefer to do this for free if possible.
