    Do you want a layer to follow a pin on another layer? If so, you should be able to do it like this:

    L = thisComp.layer(“puppet layer”);
    L.toWorld(L.effect(“Puppet”).arap.mesh(“Mesh 1”).deform(“Puppet Pin 1”).position)

    No global variables, but you can use Slider Controls to control the values. You could just apply a Slider Control to a null layer, pick whip from your expression to the slider to get the syntax right, and then control all your values with the slider.

    For multi-dimensional properties like position or scale, value is a JavaScript array representing the current keyframed value. value[0] is the x component and value[1] is the y component. For a one-dimensional property like opacity, value is a scalar and you don’t need to use the brackets [].

    I think you’d just want to append this to the last line:

    *value[0]/100

    If you want to add a smooth, random multiplier, you could use wiggle() to calculate the multiplier like this:

    freq = 5;
    mult = wiggle(freq,1)-value;

    or, if you wanted it to be periodic you could do something like this:

    freq = 5;
    mult = Math.sin(freq*time*Math.PI*2);

    Then you would just multiply your Sound Keys value by “mult” and adjust “freq” to the frequency you want.

    Here’s an ease version:

    startScale = 50; // percent of Scale at start
    endScale = 100; // percent of Scale at end
    scaleUpTime = 3; // time to scale up from inPoint in seconds

    s = ease(time,inPoint,inPoint+scaleUpTime,startScale,endScale);
    [s,s]

    I think you’ll have better luck if you tell us what you’re trying to do.

    For an expression applied to a range Selector’s Start or End property, I think this will give you the index of the Animator:

    propertyGroup(3).propertyIndex

    Yes it is.

    Do you want to modulate the light using the audio amplitude envelope? If so, it should be pretty easy – convert the audio to keyframes and use an expression like this on the light’s intensity:

    mult = 5;
    mult*thisComp.layer(“Audio Amplitude”).effect(“Both Channels”)(“Slider”)

    The exact expression will depend on what you’re trying to do.
