    I think that’s how it’s always been. It seems like a number of things get factored into the random seed. I would expect comps duplicated in the project panel to give different random results, but not duplicated precomp layers.

    I’m not sure if this is what your looking for, but it might be like this:

    myEase = function (t, b, c, d) {
    t /= d/2;
    if (t < 1)
    return c/2 * Math.pow( 2, 10 * (t - 1) ) + b;
    t--;
    return c/2 * ( -Math.pow( 2, -10 * t) + 2 ) + b;
    };

    dur = Math.round(effect("Slider Control")("Slider"));
    if (time < (inPoint+outPoint)/2)
    myEase(time-inPoint,0,100,dur)
    else
    myEase(time-(outPoint-dur),100,-100,dur)

    Like this maybe:

    rate = 20;
    m = thisComp.layer("Null 1").marker;
    txt = "";
    if (m.numKeys > 0){
    n = m.nearestKey(time).index;
    if (time < m.key(n).time) n--;
    for (i = 1; i <= n-1; i++){
    txt += m.key(i).comment + " ";
    }
    if (n > 0){
    curWord = m.key(n).comment;
    if (n < m.numKeys){
    curRate = Math.max(rate,curWord.length/(m.key(n+1).time - m.key(n).time));
    }else{
    curRate = rate;
    }
    t = time - m.key(n).time;
    x = curRate*t;
    txt += curWord.substr(0,x);
    }
    }
    txt

    Try this:

    m = thisComp.layer("Null 1").marker;
    txt = "";
    if (m.numKeys > 0){
    n = m.nearestKey(time).index;
    if (time < m.key(n).time) n--;
    for (i = 1; i <= n; i++){
    txt += m.key(i).comment + " ";
    }
    }
    txt

    I’m not clear on what you’re doing, but something like this might fit in there somewhere:

    Math.floor(effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”)/3)*3

    Just as a test, you could play around with this, to see if it’s close to what you want:

    s = effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”);
    c1 = hexToRgb(“FFFFFFFF”);
    c2 = hexToRgb(“000081FF”);
    linear(s,0,100,c1,c2)

  • I can get your expression to work with your data file, but I have to change the names of data fields so that they start with a letter. For example:

    “01_01_2020”: 0,

    doesn’t work, but

    “X01_01_2020”: 0,

    does.

    No idea really, but possibly something like this:

    vals = [1,3,3,2,1,4,2,4,1,8,5,1,3,1,1,3,10,1,1,1,3,4,4,8,4,10];
    idx = value[0].toUpperCase().charCodeAt(0) – 65;
    value[0] + vals[idx]

    Try changing this line:

    retard = textIndex*thisComp.frameDuration*1;

    to this:

    retard = (textTotal – textIndex + 1)*thisComp.frameDuration;

    Dan

  • I don’t think this is exactly what you asked for, but it’s probably close:

    yMax = 150;
    s = thisComp.layer(“Controls”).effect(“Slider Control”)(“Slider”);
    yOffset = linear(s,0,100,0,yMax);
    value + [0,yOffset,0]

    The slider, or whatever you link to will give a y offset range of zero to whatever you set yMax to as the slider goes from zero to 100;.
