Thanks for the help thus far. I still can’t seem to get the audio/video to display on my camera from the FCP timeline. Feeling like an idiot, but could you give me some specific instructions (hold my hand as we cross the street).

When you say connect the gear, are there settings in FCP or on the camera that have to be specified, as the only connection between the camera and the computer is firewire, and the video doesn’t preview on the camera on its own.

Just tried it, but the same thing occured except there is no response from the camera, ie. it doesn’t start to record
