Hey Nick: That was it. I was importing .mov files for experimenting and when I imported a wav file the the EQ filter behaved properly. Thank You very much. Dan.

Well… I found the Looping Playback instructions but looping stops and I need to render whenever I try to make an adjustment. What am I doing wrong?

OK. If I had just looked a bit harder at the manual I would have found the Looping Playback instructions the first time around. I’m sorry I asked a question about something in the manual. Dan.

Hello Nick: Thanks for the note. I knew there had to be a mechanism for fine adjustments. Thanks for taking time to respond. As I continue to brush up on FCP7 the other area that has limitations is audio tools. The EQ is pretty primitive. Giving that all changes require rendering, I guess that there’s no way to make live dynamic adjustments; e.g. adjust EQ while listening to a loop.

Hey: Thanks to all who responded. The possible client has used FCP7 for years and is going to migrate to Premier. I’ve got basic FCP7 navigation skills but come from years using Avid. So, FCP7 3 way CC is very basic.

I do have a simple question you may be able to answer. The adjustments in both graphic and numeric interfaces don’t have much finesse. Is there a way to use the arrow keys or some other keyboard method to bump the values by one number value at a time. I’m trying to see how to make subtle changes to luma and ped levels. Thanks for the help. Dan.

Hello Shane: Thanks for the help. Apparently, the person writing the job description wasn’t familiar with FCP7. They were describing something more like FCPX. I’ll look at Color. Thanks. Dan.

May 16, 2013 at 4:07 am in reply to: Linear wipe reveals moving text

    Hello John:

I believe I had tried experimenting with a couple of different wipe effects to see if they had different parameters that might help me diagnose a solution. But I’m starting from scratch tonight. I had a brutal day. My raid crashed. After two-plus hours with ATTO tech support late today it looks like I’ve lost everything on the raid. I had two drives simultaneously fail on an eight drive system and raid protection five can’t recover from that. So…

I still need to figure out how to have text animate from a hidden position to be revealed. The wipe edge needs to be on an angle and feathered so their is a soft reveal. This needs to happen within the text layer so the layers below are not effected. Any ideas would be appreciated.

    Hello John:

I’ve attached the AE project file. Cow will not let me attach a folder with media. Thanks for your time on this. I’ve got the linear wipe effect in the text layer but I’m not getting it.

    Hello:

Thanks for replying. This is an embarrassingly simple task but I’m up against a deadline and can’t get it to work. I’m rebuilding this open for HD use. I need the words “Hall” and “Fame” to rotate down into their current positions from about 90 degrees back clockwise and counterclockwise respectively and be revealed as they rotate past the Texas element without masking the lower elements.

I can’t tell if the capture is there. It was a successful upload but I don’t see an indication of it as an attachment here.

Again. Thanks for helping an idiot out. Dan.

June 29, 2010 at 4:48 pm in reply to: Motion track with blur filter

    Hello Matthew:

I think the problem has something to do with the keyframe interpolation in the blur effect. I’ve got the “Inside Rectangle” selected and the keyframe interpolation for the corner points set to “constant” but it behaves like the opposite corner (from the one selected in motion tracking “Apply”) reacts like the interpolation is set to “ease in”. That corner doesn’t stay “constant” to preserve the shape of the blurred rectangle… If you’re able to follow my thought.

I think I’ll try the BCC Witness Protect filter recommended by Peter.

Thanks for taking time to scratch your head. I’ll let you know if the other filter works.

    Dan.
