  • Sorry to bring up an old topic but I’m having issues.

I rendered out according to Dave’s settings and when i open the file up in Quicktime … the light ray looks solid in color … the FX definitely aren’t correct.
But, when I added the .mov to After Effects, it looks fine.

The Comp is simply white text with a colored light ray moving behind it and then a photo montage … I’m trying to add this to a website where the site has a cool Stone background so the transparency of the Comp is of utmost importance.

How do I get this to render out properly and/or use a program like COMPRESSOR to size it down to be able to use for webpages?

    ANY help is appreciated.

    great thoughts all around.

Construction paper sounds easier than fabric. I bought green screen fabric for other shots and it was a nightmare getting it straight and not shadowed.

Great idea building a quasi platform for the suitcase … I think that’s the ticket.

I’ll do some test shots again 🙂

  • If there won’t be a big quality difference in 422 vs 422HQ vs 4444 … I’ll be glad to stick with 422.

    I ditched the plugin altogether.

It works fine in AE but not in FCP.

    i deleted the effect anyway.

    Thanks for the reply.

It will accept photos (JPEG, PSD, etc). It will not accept any type of video file.

    Yes, I’ve restarted.

When I open AE … I get a “failed to initialize MediaCore” error prompt.

    frustrating.

Re: using original footage…I tried that. In fact, AE won’t accept ANY footage at all … No matter what format.
I’ll try renaming the file as you said though I suspect since AE isn’t allowing any video file, it might be moot to try.

I suspect some QT codecs might be giving me issues?

just installed … I’ll try it now.

as a Post Script … I have the edited clip in my FCP timeline and want to send just that clip (not the WHOLE take/file) to AE because the file is about 2 gigs but the clip I need to edit is just a few seconds.

How do I get just the edited region to AE from FCP?
