I can see that with the “Master Control Consule”, I can apply Audio FXs to all audio tracks (combined), but I don’t see Normalize as one of those FX options.
Basically, I am trying to Normalize the master audio output at -6 db.

I know how to control individual audio tracks, but how does one access “master” controls for multiple audio tracks?

Ahh! That did it. The annoying Audio FX’s are now gone (and stay gone).

Yes, I do “remove” them, so that the green icon goes gray. And, within the “Set Default Track Properties”, I uncheck “Track Fx”.
But, when I add a new Audio Track, the default green (3 Audio Fx’s) re-appear on the new track.
This is not a big deal, since they seem to have neutral settings (and I can, and do, remove them). But, they are an annoyance and I fear that they will cause me, eventually, accidently apply a Fx to the audio. I would prefer to start with no Fx’s on Audio and add them, manually, if needed.

Edward, are you referring to the track’s “Set Default Track Properties”?
When I remove the default Fx’s, then uncheck the “Track Fx” within “Set Default Track Properties”, they still seem to show up when I create a new audio track.
I am sure that it is pilot-error, but I don’t know what I might be doing wrong? Why does Vegas have these 3 Audio-Fx settings automatically appear, anyway? The Video track does not automatically load Fx’s. Just curious.

You are right, of course. I don’t know what I was doing, before, but modifying the 2nd time within Notepad works, just fine.

Thank you, Edward. I successfully copied and installed that script in Vegas8, as you instructed—and it works as you designed. But, to modify the “time” portion of it, what program would I use?
Modifying it in Notepad or Frontpage, it is not recognized as a .cs file, even if I name it as a .cs file.
