new question is about “incomplete clips”
Xdcam transfer software does not want to import it. it sees it and plays it but will not let the IMPORT button activate.

I had the same problem with a couple clips i moved onto my array today.
for example: I moved over a BVAP folder with 6 clips in it.
the XDCAM viewer saw and played all 6 clips but only 3 of them would “IMPORT”

I then went back to the external drive I brought them into the edit bay on and found the same six clips, all of which I was able to import.

Any ideas on that weirdness?

I also experienced several “frozen” raid array/Mac Pro issues if FCP was open at the same time.

does this mean I have lost the footage I renamed?
or can I trick FCP, rename the BPAV folders back to BPAV.

I have “imported” a couple shots from this material, which the clip browser does see. FCP does not.

what am I doing wrong?

thanks for your info. I was able to generate and XML and by not letting it reconnect to the media I then highlighted and batch capture. seems to be working fine.

problem is it’s already in DV letterbox. we did not put in as HD so we can’t down convert.

the DV letterbox can’t be converted to squeezed. need to re-encode as only option

we are/have captured from the 1200A deck. It is a DV project. we just want it to be available in both formats, letterbox & squeezed (anamorphic)
right now it is letterbox.

the shot in Varicam, we are re-encoding the project in DV “squeezed”. It is currently letterboxed. we intend to use the existing audio on the new project.
we are in FCP 5 on a G5 dual 2.7

we have 6 channels of audio. that could be it.
it also has 3 or 4 video layers in places.
we were using a CMX 3600. wasn’t sure what list to use as we are just doing a High res re-encode.
whats an XML list? if it’s FCP specific
