On one hand, no worries. We created this forum as a place to blow off steam. It’s a truly important part of the process. For some people, it’s a grieving process, stages of which include anger and denial. For others it’s a simple matter of making some mental adjustments. In any case, we needed a place to quarantine “noise.”
Of course, we’re primarily committed to signal. By the end of the first day, it was clear that some folks are ready to get something done with the software, or least try to, so we created the FCPX Techniques forum. It’s already nice and signal-y.
In the meantime, it never hurts to remember that Google sees all and knows all. The traffic in the COW is high enough that Google typically sucks up posts here within a very few minutes.
Here’s the thing, though. Don’t sweat clients and peers. They’ll google you once every year or two. Your mom is the one who googles you every day. If you don’t want your mom to know what you said, don’t say it.

From the beginning, our purpose with the FCPX forum has been a place to quarantine noise. The original FCP forum is still the best place on the net to get peer support for a product that still works just fine.
Then we created the FCPX Techniques forum – a place for people to go who are ready to work.
In the meantime, FCPX isn’t just noise – it’s full contact noise. We might think about renaming that forum something like FCPX Talk….or yelling as the case may be….

I still pop back there too, but my blood pressure is staying calmer here. Rage is fun for a while, no doubt, but I’m too old to stay that mad for long….

All I know is that Apple is watching and reading too. They are one of the companies who most regularly frequent the COW, and I assure you that they have read everything here.
Now, what happens from here, I can assure you that I am the last person on earth that they would tell. 🙂

Todd is one of the most frequent posters at Creative COW. Don’t hesitate to reach him through the Premiere Pro and After Effects forums.
Our Avid forum is quite active too, and many of the guys are familiar with FCP, for obvious reasons.
That said, a lot of the guys who are active in the Avid forum are active in the FCP forums as well, for equally obvious reasons. In fact, some of the most active posters in one forum are also the most active posters in the other….again, for obvious reasons.
It’s slightly less true with the Premiere Pro forum, but I predict that this might change right quick.
My point being is that this is just as good a place as any to bring this up, because there are lots of multi-lingual guys here. But certainly as you drill down, a visit to those other forums might be in order.
In any case, there’s nowhere better to get the answers to these question than the COW. This is a great thread. Carry on, gentlemen…especially if you’re gentle. 🙂

The guys in this video are all part of Creative COW. Both Rob Ashe and Dan Dome wrote articles for Creative COW Magazine, and Rob’s article included a picture of Dave. (Way to go, Dave!)
They’re really wonderful articles. You should definitely take a look. Oh, and in Dan’s article, he talks about leading the transition to FCP at Conan’s previous show, as well as at Saturday Night Live.
You’ll really enjoy both of them.

Well, as I mention in the post above, some of the funniest guys in the business happen to work for Conan, are all over the COW, and have been big users of FCP.
