Please include your export settings, not your sequence settings.

Perhaps you need to deinterlace. Perhaps your data rate is too low for the motion. Perhaps you need to do multipass VBR instead of single pass.

I think you’d be much better of with a modern encoder as well. Apple H.264 encoding at the time of FCP7 was poor compared to MainConcept and x264.

You’ve expressed well why I’m not getting an Apple Watch.

In fact, once I got my iPhone I stopped wearing watches. I’d much rather take the slight inconvenience of pulling out a more useful pocket computer which includes other important functions that I usually need when I also need to know the time.

The “convenience” of having a device on my wrist is outweighed by the tiny screen. Obviously a million people and counting feel different than I do though.

I think user demand for control over filter stacking order led Apple to move Color Correction to an Effects Filter.

I have little doubt that Apple has been hammered with requests for curves. I wouldn’t be surprised that development priority moved that to a later release. Probably getting the multi scope view and moving CC to an effect were mission critical to making future changes in CC more useful. For the same reason I think improvements in keyframe took the lead over actual tracking. Which may now be more viable to implement.

On an OSX 10.10.3 with the new FCPX 10.2 I just noticed that Quicktime 7 now seems to have Quicktime 7 Pro features. This machine has been untouched by FCP Studio legacy.

FCPX has some major innovations (for me) but I’m personally getting frustrated by the feature updates. It’s still missing things other NLEs have and, over time, that’s beginning to weigh more heavily.

Gotta read about 10.2 though.

It looks like this is camera that’ll have a long shelf life given the feature set. Two very attractive price points as well.

Major impressed that one can switch to global shutter mode (probably at some cost to dynamo range).

I hope there’s more info on the high speed frame rates. It doesn’t seem to be expressed in their tech data.

With July ship date we probably won’t see broad availability until October or so.

Wonder how much it weighs and how well balanced if one wants to go handheld? I’m sure we’ll find out in a few hours.

If FCPX could only handle cDMG directly, make some internal improvements to grading… or Resolve 12 adds a trackless and magnetic timeline as an option.

I guess we’ll have something to look forward to when it’s delivered January 2016.

CCW in NYC in November now run by NAB directly. I’m not sure how “innovative” it will be but I was part of a focus group and gave them a earful of recommended changes.

It’s not until November but CCW is now owned by NAB and I suspect they will be making changes to make it more mini NABish.
