Thanks for that clarification. If only KeyFlow Pro could do that from within. I guess I could do the same with Camera Archives but having to go through about four years worth….
They are working on things though so I’m going to toss them a few more feature requests.

When I import an FCPX Library it sees no clips, just the library itself. It doesn’t seem to open the FCPX Library bundle just as it doesn’t seem to open FCPX Camera Archives.

I can’t import clips from FCPX Camera Archives. I can’t import XDCAM EX or XAVC-L camera clips.
Perhaps you’ve found solutions for these. Am I overlooking something?
For me, I want to manage my camera sources. -
Seeing two clips in a storyline when using two viewers. Currently there’s only an additional Event Viewer. Two storyline Viewers would help to compare clips when color grading for example.

I think Roles are potentially much more flexible and useful than tracks (for me) but I don’t think has done much to take the new paradigm much further in that area since the release.

Targeting roles while editing much as one would target video or audio to a track. In some cases, it’s easier for me to do it while editing rather than in advance or having to change it once in the timeline.

Did you explain why that’s important? I was going to put in a feature request for that. Flexibility to recombine because, over time, old media may have new uses, One might want to create project specific combinations.

One should be able to reorganize from time to time. It should also be able to search paths to see if new files have been added.

With KFP how are you viewing the content of the FCPX Libraries (and Camera Archives if you’re using those as well) or are the names themselves useful enough for you?
I’m looking forward to their update as well as I like the UI.

If FCPX can do it, it’s likely that the current version of Apple Compressor can convert the files as well. It’s only $50 but there’s no trial version. You can download a free trial version of FCPX though. FCPX and Compressor use the same encoding engine although Compressor has much more access to custom configuration.

4K have value if you want to reframe, stabilize, pseudo push in or pan in post. Sometimes a one camera shoot can be made to look like two. This is all if you work in a 1080 timeline. Also many like the way 4k downscaled to 1080 looks.
