When you have had this issue, is it as simple to fix as re-linking the volume/drive?
-
Hate sound like such a newb, but what are ‘volumes’ in relation to FCPX?

Okay, so I tried a few things and still the same outcome, the ‘missing generator icon’
What i’ve tried:
I created a new project in motion and made certain to create a FC Generator from the start. I saved it, found it in FC and poo…
I went back to a different motion project and did the publish as FC generator as suggested, and still in FC.. Poo –
I also was able to open your motion project, publish it as FC Generator and still POO.
I am now wondering if it is an issue with my final cut being version 10.0.5…
Hence, as we have had issues updating to the newer versions in the past (unconnected media and lost media etc..)
Has anyone had issues with their projects and events when updating from 5?Thanks thanks!

hmmm… confused…
When I opened motion I created a new FC Generator, when I hit ‘save’ I named it and it shows up in FC.
Inside of Motion, do I need to look for a ‘publish’ options and ‘publish as generator’? I see ‘publish template’, but not generator..??

Thank you,
I am afraid of updating from 5 as we once updated a while back, and it totally goofed up all are projects, events and unlinked stuff all over the place. Hence, we now normally finish a production run, all videos and then back them up, and finally update. (which normally takes a few months)
I am looking into the 5770 & the 4800 now. I actually have two of these machines, so am going to try to get a discount on getting 2 cards.
Quick question, having the program on a solid state drive would not do a lot performance wise?

We are working with original quality, however, we use clip wrap to make the original media .mov files, then re-name the .mov’s to orginize them a bit, then import to FCPX – I did double check and playback is set to better performance (as opposed to ‘high quality’)

I zipped the containing folder.. only 12kb’s (seems small..)
dancevideosdirect.com/ProgressBar3.zip
Thank you thank you thank you!

I did publish it in motion, as a generator, just like your screenshot.

Alright so a guy (Andy) had replied to my post last Thursday with a quick tutorial for doing this with motion… I tried to replicate and failed. However, I notice now that all his posts are gone ;(
Any way to get em back?
I am reposing this issue in the motion forum here:
