If you do end up buying, I would be willing to buy one or two from you when you’re done if the price is right. What if you rent half/buy half? Any chance for a vendor discount or something from AJA?

4 MONTHS! I was hoping to get it back in a couple of weeks! Where did you send it? What did they say was wrong? I was thinking I may just order the parts and do it myself if it is going to take that long.

    Thanks,

  • I forget the exact legalese but we normally have large posters at our events at each entrance that read. “This event is being recorded for a future broadcast, by entering this auditorium you agree to potentially have your voice/likeness recorded and/or broadcast.”

Phil makes a good point. If you are saying you are trying to take the SDI output of this mixer and use it with a monitor that has an RCA video input, you may have a problem. As far as I know there is no SDI equipment that uses RCA’s. You may have some confusion about formats, as I think your monitor may not be able to SDI.

No reason why it shouldn’t. Just make sure you use good quality RCA cables and that they fit tightly onto your BNC adapter. If you are using an adapter cable, as long as it is professionally made and wired correctly, you should be fine.

That’s most likely the problem. Machine “A” was underpowered, so I upgraded some things which allowed me to switch to 64 bit. I never deactivated before I did the fresh install, assuming it wouldn’t be an issue.

What’s the process for the deactivation?

    Thanks again, you’re the best!

So I should be able to say for instance run Wirecast on system “A” in studio “A”, and then have System “B” running simultaneously in studio “B”, so I can have a smooth handoff between streams using my Livestream Studio Console?

When I was setting up a second computer for a test, it said that the license is already in use? I think I may have some other licensing issue since we upgraded from 3 to 4?

I can second what Scott is saying about retraining the “noise floor” in your brain. I recently started to discover that all of the “background noise” in my day has caused me to have a lower “signal-to-noise” ratio in my head. For instance in the very rare instance I am in a completely silent room, or occasionally when I wake up in the middle of the night and there is absolutely no other noise, I hear nothing but “white noise” maybe my hearing is going, maybe it’s my new “noise floor”?

As for white noise, I bought this small “waterfall in a box” that streams water down a color changing wall. It also has a built in sound generator (jungle, beach, storm) I find when I’m totally stressed and can’t focus, can’t wind down, nothing else works…it does the trick.

Eric, you’re right, that’s who that was, he was super helpful at the booth.

I’m guessing my best option will be to upgrade my board to handle USB 3.0 and get one of each type of intensity, as well as use my existing Decklink card for HD/SDI stuff.

The Matrox sounds promising, but I’m a PC guy, and that’s not changing anytime soon!

A new question popped up last night I wanted to ask you about. In order to use Wirecast with Silverlight, all that needs to be done is to have the stream go out as H.264 correct? I won’t need to purchase any of the Silverlight Encoding software?

Thanks so much Craig, and sorry for hi-jacking the thread!

Hey Craig thanks for the quick reply & the new link.

I am trying to “multi-purpose” this machine so it can work with our HD flypack (streaming in SD via SDI) and also as a rental to clients who have their own equipment but need a system to stream. That being the case I may have to invest in one of each to cover all of the bases.

I think you and I had a chat at the Wirecast display at NAB? If that was you, thanks for taking the time to show me all of the new Wirecast features, and solve a recording issue I was having.
