first off, turn your camera’s auto gain off, and go full manual.
Back in the day before reelsmart motion blur and such, keying was jerky looking from shooting with a really high shutter. Now you can post-add the blur back in.
And don’t go the other extreme; shooting with super bright lights and stopping down the camera to f/12. You’ll get a problem called “circle of confusion”, yes it’s real!
You actually reduce image quality because light is bouncing off the diameter lens. That’s one reason why movies are shot f/5.6. or less.
Another advantage is you get a shallow depth of field which blurs the green screen to make much better keys. If you have too, at least use a Neutral Density filter.

sounds like a student project, and if you’re overwelmed by all this, you can always download videocopilot.net preset package for free that has loads of free stuff, including day for night animation preset. Instead of motion tracking, he uses a gradient to fix the sky, blue tints, levels effects, etc. It’s really not that bad looking.
another sky replace option is a custom project I made where you just use the matte adj inner/outer sliders that do fast sky replacements, no roto.

don’t forget the Custom Effects (placed in PresetEffects).xml. They’re alot easier to make.

that looks exactly like roughen edges. also the bad key lost detail. you could try fractal noise or sharpen to bring in some noise. also. there’s random holes you could simply draw with pen tool.

and btw, if you precompose your pins, the newcomp can be fully motion tracked and then parented in any way you want.

there’s only addavlayer,null,solid,text,camera,light, shape, name, precompose for scripting.
You could always try animating the starch high before you move the pin.
