i believe if you reverse a really happy song or effect, add heavy echo, slow 200%, add heavy distortion, it comes out very sad.

then just use a frequency shift tone down, like the doppler effect of a siren passing you. To get the right direction, think despondent as the emotion. don’t forget, you can cut off the effect before its “done” to get a strange, wth moment.

sorry, as far as i know, no such AE plugin exists. I don’t know why there’s no b-spline or bezier plugins, very strange, seems like there would be a huge market for it. Mocha kind of took over that part, I believe, for tracking, splines etc.

Anyways, for ease of use, I’d recommend mocha pro. I’m sure you’ve used mocha before and it will automatically track and remove(create a clean plate) for you. very easy to use. google youtube mocha pro rig removal for quick demos.

don’t forget a quick track in AE attached to a couple clone stamp tools to go around a curve can sometimes work farely well, too.(as long as the curve shape angle is unchanging)

in effects controls, you will have 3 effects in this order
1. cc bender – to unwrap wire to be perfectly straight
2. cc wire removal
3. another cc bender -re-bend with negative number you used from step 1

you can pickwhip to nulls to work faster the a and b endpoints.
you’d also want to mask out the portion you’re working with as bending/rebending causes softening of the image.

keep in mind, this is the slowest, most cumbersome way to remove curved wires, (short of clone stamp tool)
as AE doesn’t natively support bezier curvers. I’d recommend another compositing tool
or plugin instead like nuke.

what type of haze?

you could try duplicating the footage ctrl+d when its highlighted
then set the top new layer transfer mode (F4 to pop up) to multiply, overlay, or soft. You could try soft, then ctrl+d
it until the image is dark enough for your taste.

if you like this method, drag all your clips into a comp, then go to layer-precompose. That will be your ctrl+d layer
discussed above.

what you’d want is, after you’ve softened the edges:

add new white solid, set as soft light opacity 50%. this raises gamma a special way
then add adjustment layer on top of that, search for bloom-brights preset.

as you can see, besides the color correction, there’s a lot going on here. not just blur ‘n go.

i disagree with trish meyer. Adding blur to everything…well, blurs everything(i.e. eyes). try my free ae template to see if its what you’re looking for. it softens edges only like film, enhances texture, color, grain.

then after the edges are softened, you can go back and add gaussian blurs, this way it will look more natural, unless of course you shot on film in the first place.

18GB for 4 minutes? I’m surprised you can play it back in realtime without studdering. Also, media player classic home cinema is better than VLC. It runs more videos, takes 10x less CPU power, and even does post sharpening in realtime.
