Thanks for replying! I went with the mask; had to align the text right, otherwise the year bounced around all over the place making masking too much of a bother. It isn’t perfect, but it works.

Thanks for the link: I’m going to check that out and see if that doesn’t offer something better — if not for this project, for the next — as Numbers is just too limited.
