    problem solved. A corrupt edl manager on the avid was to blame. And apparently the Avid Express does not have a EDL manager. thanks for trying!

    I tried the same basic 3 cut edl on an avid and a avid express. both refused to import the file.
    I would understand if it imported and the individual shots were screwy, but it won’t even import the file.
    I did manage to import a ALE batch capture list made in the avid back into the avid, so i’m assuming the
    edl importer works fine.

    I just did several tests. 3 clips, laid back to back video only. Exported it as an CMX3600 edl V1 only.
    The avid wouldn’t recognize it, even with shortened reel names.
