Hello there,

I’ve just stumbled across this posting from a few years back, but here I am in late 2017 experiencing the same problem.

I can see my 3D text behaving perfectly in my composition, but when I try to export it using AME, the text doesn’t hold onto it’s 3D properties. So then I tried exporting in the Render Queue. Same problem.

As someone who only occasionally uses After Effects, I started looking for obvious things that I should, or shouldn’t have done.

And the answer? I had the 3D camera layers ‘eye’ icon in the comp switched off. You still see the 3D results in the comp window, but not in any export.

Hope this helps anyone in the future who’s experiencing the same problem.
