    ok, so the “none” compression setting is creating a overkill.

    So, if would export out of FCP using Quicktime conversion, setting the format to .avi and the compression to DV, that would give me a useful file?

    Sorry for having to spell this out for me. It’s just that I have never worked with files like these before. (ex: Movie1.dv). It’s obviously a DV Codec, but only FCP recognizes it.
