I know it doesn’t help in this case but if you know you’ll be heavily cutting up your clips and ending up with a bunch of them it is useful to nest your clips in a sequence and cut up the sequence instead of the original files. This way all you need to do is apply the color correction to the original files in the cc sequence instead of the 20 million cut up slices in your master timeline. Of course if you have 200 video files from your shoot then this trick doesn’t apply. Also I would avoid using adjustment layers for color correction as each shot usually requires a different treatment.
