    i was testing this filter already. but its very very computational intensive.
    The echo filter makes a lot of Clips again and again. For a Video with 20 minutes – impossible. (you need at least 1000 echos)

    The other example ist just exposed – no animated echos

    sorry – there must be an easier solution.
    this was a testvideo from a hardware-homepage – the will never use 3D-Programms or rotoscope the robots for that. this would be too expensive for a simple test video.

    take a look at the sample video in full resolution – this looks like a multiply effect.

    I was thinking about a solution with a overlayer or something like that.

    No – there are no 3D Models.
    You can see the track of the vacuum cleaner robots in this clip.
