Hi Peter. Same problem with the quicktime decoder error in Resolve Lite 10.1.5.

Resolve will not see any quicktime files.

Multiple reboots and reinstalls and still the same trouble. Even the sample tutorial files are not reading in resolve…

I too am on a deadline here – any help or feedback is appreciated.

    Sincerely,

    Chris O.

  • Thx Rohit. That’s exactly what I did. To help keep track I created a new folder in the gallery for every roll. I think I created 64 rolls. Then I exported and named each batch as per the roll/folder number. It took a while but at least I did not overwrite any files.

Here is a link to a 24 frame clip of the original C300 footage. It was shot using a TrueLog profile and recorded to ProRes422HQ on a Samurai recorder.

I’d love to see a sample project that minimizes the noise in the subject while pulling a clean key.

It’s interesting to note the waveform on the monitor screen right. You can clearly see that the green screen was exposed at 50IRE viewed in Log mode.

btw our solution so far has been to send the project to a Nuke artist who seems to have a handle on suppressing any noise in the C300 footage. I am just hoping that AE has the tools to do this and that I simply haven’t found the right recipe yet…

Thanks for the ideas Angelo. I guess I’m looking for feedback from others who may have had a tough time with C300 footage specifically…

Thats a good keying principle to use an inside and outside key.

    Hi Hampus,

I’m dealing with similar issues and wondered if you could post your test files to dropbox again…

Other than my 25 fps HDSDI output issue …. MC6 is ticking along nicely on 10.6.8

    I recommend trying it 🙂

    Peter,

Can you describe a modest Resolve system that will export 24 fps, 1920 x 1080, ProRes422HQ from Red 4K footage at better than 24fps?

As you mentioned above, you commonly see systems capable of 100fps+ renders. This blows my mind. How is it possible. And is there a happy medium?

    Thank you in advance.

To say that Resolve doesn’t support audio isn’t completely true.

True 8.2 does not render audio. I’ve just completed CC on a feature where I previewed sync audio along with picture via HDSDI.

As indicated in the Resolve manual, you can import an audio file to use as you colour correct. Right click the timeline in the Conform tab. Choose audio options. Click Choose Audio File button. Select a .wav file.

Then in the Color tab right click the track and choose Show Audio Options. Your waveform will appear. Right click again and choose Adjust Audio Offset. Offset the audio to match your picture output on your reference monitor or your grading GUI depending on your preference.
