Anybody know if it will run on Snow Leopard? I see Lion is recommended but don’t want to go there, given horror stories I have heard.

People have run it on Snow Leopard, but it’s not qualified. For the record, I still hear horror stories from Final Cut users about how horrible Avid is. Avid users give me horror stories about Final Cut. Horrors stories are all somewhat true but all mostly blown out of proportion. I’m using MC6 on 10.7.3 and haven’t noticed anything huge that didn’t also sometimes occur on MC 5.5.3 on 10.6.8. If you use Stage Tools a lot, I’ve heard about some issues with that, but I would recommend just moving to Lion and going with the recommended setup.

I’m running Avid Symphony 6.0.1.1 (same as MC 6) on Lion, 10.7.4, and have no problems. No horror stories.

I have it on a old mac pro running 10.6.8. at work. Havent run into any show stoppers yet, although my Imac i7 feels a little bit smoother.

Other than my 25 fps HDSDI output issue …. MC6 is ticking along nicely on 10.6.8

    I recommend trying it 🙂
