I tried closing out and then opening it back up and it seems to be working (at least the preview was showing up as it was rendering, although I did not actaully finish rendering it since it was going to take a while). If it is working would you suggest that I seperatly render my projects from the mpeg 2 fomat with the chroma key to DV AVI and then compile all of thoes project files into one main project file and then use the make a movie feature to save it as dvd format? Thanks again, I am just not that familiar with the formatting.

Thanks, just out of curiosity would I be better off just editing the mpeg 2 video, rendering that to another format and then adding all the chroma key effects? I have way to much video in mpeg 2 format to reder it all and then edit it and I am pretty far along. My goal is to get the final product to look as good as possible in dvd format. I really appreciate all the help.
Thanks
Chris

One more thing to my last post. this is what it says for the video specifications on a site I looked at.
Format : SD (MPEG2)
Video Signal : NTSC color, EIA standards -
Maybe it is dvd, its a sony dcr sx40. I am already very far along with the editing. is this going to be a problem with saving out? do you have any other suggestions?
Thanks

I am using a sony dv camcorder that records in mpg format. I have saved movies out before and have had mixed results.
Thanks

Thanks for the quick response. so if I render it to quicktime ani or pfn 24 bit that will combine all my video, effects and audio into one merged file. After that I should be able to render the other parts of the video seperatly the same way and then combine them into one compete file and render them all at the same time to a dvd format. Is that correct? I am just making sure I am clear on this.

May 20, 2009 at 5:39 pm in reply to: sony vegas chroma key on more than one clip on the same trackThanks alot for the help, I appreciate it, I will plan on trying that when I get home. I am planing on exporting the final file to a dvd and want the best possible quality when I do it. Do you have any suggestions on how to get the best possible resolution and picture quality when outputing the file when I am done? I am wotking with a regular dv widescreen camera that is supposed to give a good quality picture but I have nothing to compare it to to know how good it should look.
Thanks

May 20, 2009 at 4:10 pm in reply to: sony vegas chroma key on more than one clip on the same trackThanks for the quick responce, I dont have it in front of me but I will tell you exactly what I do. for example, I have all my clips on one track. Say I am using just two clips and want to have seperate chroma key settings. I slect the clip then gram the green screen chroma key over that clip. I then adjust the settings. Next I grab the second clip and drag the green screen chroma key effect over that clip and adjust the settings (I then notice that in the section where I update the settings that there are two chroma key tabs I think because I added it seperatly twice). Next I click the first clip and then try and edit the settings but nothing happens. It seems like it either does nothing or edits the second clip in some cases. Just thought I would mention that I am using the trial version, I dont think that should matter.
