We tried importing .mov files and it was impossible to get both audio and video to play. The segments are roughly 5 -7 minutes each.

I was told that if compressed AE would waste it’s energy trying to recreate the compressed details. So it is best to export the “normal” file.

Do you know the codec/file format to just export/save as a “normal” FC file without compression of any kind?

Oh OK, so you would suggest doing the basic background (diamonds, transparent fields, logos, etc.) in photoshop but do all the text in AE?

Sounds like that would be much easier if it works and a much smaller file.

Luckily this is scoring a pre-recorded game.

Would you recommend doing the design in photoshop with tons of layers?

For instance, under one teams score field I have many layers to cover possible scores. Like 1 through 10. And when I need to show a score of 4, i just hide all of the layers except the 4 layer.

Does that even work in After Effects? Can you import files form photoshop and keep the layers AND manipulate them inside AE?

One more question for you. If this is to be broadcast in HD, what resolution do you think I should create the files with in Photoshop?

I am talking about the graphics you see on the TV screen while the game is being played. Score, the pitch count, outs, etc.
