thanks much for the advice, I have tried to pull down the levels they are at 100 indeed I cant even slide them down it seems. Wow, those camera suggestions are well priced.the HVX looks great, its got specific cards tho right? Only problem is then I need a DSLR as well for my other shoots. Hence the DSLR choice. So now im in a kenundrum, I think I should have maybe done some lighting tests prior, it was sort a guerrilla shoot unfortunately. Not much direction, I know I am the professional so I am at fault here. Thanks again for the advice.

what would that do, if I had the camera? can I capture direct from HDMI, I read up on that and people say its laggy. I agree, the camera may be the best option, I had even considered use the A/V out and capturing live,….wont be HD but the details will be there….in theory.

yes on the camera LCD it looks better, not great, just better. A lot more detail, I am looking at it in both FCP and CS6. Both with blown out features, on my iMac. I was curious to see the HDMI out to a TV but I dont have the camera with me, it was a rental.

I did go into the waveform and tried to pull down the whites but they seem to stay at 100. I have tweaked a few filters making it slightly better so I still have hope. Though it may be lost. and I feel terrible.

The camera works just fine, I can import through iMovie which I do not like but its a last resort. Yes, no picture or device control unless I use the apple intermediate codec. Its very strange, Ill try re-installing FCP

also, update I just reinstalled Final Cut and all the components and it still says the same error, any ideas??

  • What do you suggest? are there any FW800 to mini cables on the market?

  • Hi thank you for the reply, you may have missed the part where I listed that I have always daisy chained it, I had it once through 2 hard drives and it worked. Also, if the daisy chain was the issue why does iMovie capture?
