I used to work on that, many years ago when Pat Trougton,Jon Pertwee and Tom Baker were Doctors. Happy days. Once we found a Dalek parked in the scenery runway and rode around in it. Left one of our colleagues inside for while, as you can’t get out without help.

That’s why I wished it to you. When I was a boy Tom Baker was THE Doctor, though that may have been somewhat delayed here in the states. My daughter is a fanatic about the current batch. Have to say that I am too. And the new companion-hubba, hubba.

Lovely! I’ve just made a promise to myself to take a long drive and listen to the 9th in full sometime next week. Its been years since I’ve done that. Maybe a double feature. The 9th and Mahler’s 2nd or 3rd, or the 9th and Marriage of Figaro. Either way, some clean beautiful sound in a contemplative environment–coast or desert–to salve the soul and mark the coming of the New Year.

That’s funny. I’ve been saying “Happy Holidays” most of my life, and only in the last five or so years has it become “politically correct” to do so. I guess if you live in a space where 99.9% of your fellow humans celebrate Christmas, it must seem a bit forced and some sort of nod to some sort of socialist overlord nanny state to feel obliged to say “happy holidays,” but if you’ve grown up in a world of intersecting cultures that all celebrate something slightly different having to do with the Winter solstice, it just seems polite to go with “Happy Holidays.”
But now, I feel a tad shamed and so do throw off these chains of political correctness: A good and happy Merlinpeen to you. sir. May your month of Verdukian pleasures truly soar.
