AE doesn’t seem as intuitive to me as does Premiere Pro. I am a self-taught PP user who has had difficulty learning and navigating AE. I’ve been meaning to invest in the TT AE and other tutorials. Maybe it’s time, now that the busy season is coming to a close.

Can you recommend a good tutorial on how to use a waveform monitor and vectorscope? I realize they are very helpful tools but don’t know how to read or use them. I’m still trying to learn good color correction techniques.

I find the fact that this isn’t supported natively in EncoreDVD rather disappointing. It seems like it should be a normal function. Thankfully, people like you have discovered ‘workarounds’ to band-aid the software’s shortcomings.

So is there any delay between the end of the ‘simulated menu’ timeline and the menu itself? Even if it’s very brief, it would defeat the purpose. I assume you’ve done this and know that the transition would be seamless. My initial concern however, is that there will a pause between them as the laser moves to find the menu.

No…I verified it is recording through the line-in mic in the menu. For some reason, it still records any contact with the body of the unit.

You can also Google “Photography Contract” or variations on that theme. You’ll get dozens of contracts. Just pick and choose what language you want to keep, and assemble your own version. Then have a lawyer look at it. Photo & Video are almost identical in terms of contracts. At a minimum, you can start there.

Yes- absolutely, I can hear rustling and any contact with the unit itself while the lav is plugged in.

The Azden 503 lav was recommended by David Chandler-Gick, I believe, in the Event Videographers forum. He reported success with this combination.

I’m certain the lav was plugged all the way in, however I still hear noise when I touch the iRiver’s case. There also is pretty strong audio recorded when speaking directly into the lav, so maybe you’re right & the built-in mic is picking up unwanted sound at the same time.

What other types of mics would one recommend for the iRiver?

Thank you Scot! I’ll try that. I thought there must be a way to do it through filters, without plug-ins, but wasn’t sure of the combination. I wondered if it might be an After Effects feature, but this sounds do-able.
