We shot on Super 16, telecined to DV, and used Cinema Tools to import the footage at 23.98fps into FCP.

Thanks so much. The festival head told me that he would ask his technical director, but he said that he assumes they will want to file to be in PAL format (they’re in Australia). I haven’t the foggiest on how to make that conversion from the 23.98 timeline I have now. So, I suppose my weekend will be consumed with 25fps research if that does turn out to be the case. Any tips you guys have on that would be most helpful.

I should have said minimally compressed, not uncompressed, and neither a small hard drive nor a dual layer DVD-R are options. Nevertheless, I think I have figured out the problem, and I appreciate your help. I don’t take the comment about reading the manual personally, but I do find it interesting how often that statement is made on this forum. It was my understanding that said forum is here for those of us who have either failed to find certain information in the manual or simply seek a different wording(s) for optimum comprehension.
