Well DC, is a two hour drive for me, so I’d probably charge $800-$1000.00. I don’t think that’s really an accurate way to price this as I’ve already shot the footage, been paid for it and done the work. I’ve seen some places list $100 per second of footage used which sounds pretty reasonable. Basically I was hoping to get insight from people who have licensed footage to know what a good quote would be.

When the encoding process nears completion a DVD icon appears in my dock, when I mouse over it, it says “create disc” Keep in mind I am actually creating the DVD from Compressor, I select the option for “create DVD” when job finishes and have it save a disc image to the hard drive.

I need a minimum of 4 bags of gear to properly shoot a wedding.

Yes, however, I know others who have traveled to Canada for a one-off job and as soon as they see the gear at the border questions arise. I’d love to hear from anyone with firsthand experience with a situation like this.

Hi guys,
Sorry if I’m not being clear. I’ve never used Adobe Encore before. I have a project that I am exporting from FCP7 and I’d like to use Encore to burn that file to a Blu-Ray disc with chapter menus that I set up in FCP. The tutorials I have found haven’t specifically talked about this. If there are any or if anyone has any suggestions I’d appreciate it. Thanks for your time.

Is Toast really more versatile? I’m new to both the Share feature and Toast. From what I can tell in toast I can’t have the chapter menu titles that I set in FCP show up, they just show up as numbers, which is really irritating when I have 18 chapters. If you can tell me how to set this up I’d appreciate it.

No, they didn’t and that’s why I posted here. Thanks for supplying a link, however I specifically asked about exporting a file from FCP7 to Adobe Encore CS4. Your tutorial begins by describing how to bring a project from Premiere to Encore, this does not really help me.
I’m hoping that by posting here, someone with more experience than I can help me out, so that I can end the two weeks of trial and error that I’ve been going through.

I use this one: https://www.bhphotovideo.com/bnh/controller/home?O=productlist&A=details&Q=&sku=542007&is=REG&addedTroughType=Referred+Search and I’ve seen other videographers using it as well. The casing for the light feels cheap, but it gets the job done!

Hey Philip,
Thanks for the tip! I ended up buying the Alesis Pro which is very similar to the Zoom HD, it’s a little cheaper though and records directly into my iPod. I made the mistake of hooking right into the band’s mixer at the first wedding I used it at, and discover, as you mentioned that the drums weren’t mixed in, so I got a pretty awful sounding mix. I’ll try your advice and next time will hook up an external mic for the drums! It’s amazing when you have a recording basically of just the lead singer how often they go off pitch!
Thanks again!
