If you’re still looking to purchase, I own a LMD-2050W. We use it for HD and SD work, and in standard definition it’s fairly close to our CRT’s. I was impressed at NAB 2007 when Sony released the ChromaTru line of Lumas, and I’m still impressed at how close it is. Our Sony and our JVC HD CRT’s still are gorgeous, but the current LUMA’s are quite reliable.

  • I would be for 1080 or 720p at 24fps. Works great for downconversion to NTSC – just add pulldown. Do a small speedup to 25fps for PAL and you’re good to go as well.

We have a Multibridge Extreme. With this box alone, we’ve been able to have the mose seemless I/O workflow. We can ingest any format, and output and monitor any format and framerate. Changing your settings in Final Cut is as simple as choosing an output format via a menu, and we have the flexibility to ingest, and edit any format that has come across our facilty, from DV, BetaSP, to DigitalBetacam, even DVCPRO HD shot at 720p24pn. We’re also looking forward to landing our first 2K project as well, since we can output and monitor 2K with this box as well.

We’ve had no downtime what so ever. It’s been on 24-7 for months. I know that Premiere Pro and After Effects has full support with this product as well.
