— thought I’d mail the outcome ….

…. although the original footage was from a DV tape the answer to the problem was that I didnt specify a field order at all on import.

I am surprised this had such an adverse effect and one clip that had been pre-rendered ( to extend the length ) seemed to have this problem ‘fixed’ into it in such a way that it could not be changed — the answer for to that was to was to re-import from original source and delete the pre-rendered clip.

I guess its just one of those things — you learn the hard-way and next time you just fix it without even thinking…

———- thats what I reckon also — got fooled at first though though because I imported targa files which were sent from Premiere.

I do have a follow up query which would appreciate your thoughts on also if you have time please……..

……….. Assuming the targa files were dumped off with lower field first do you reckon it is just a question of setting ‘interpret footage’ to lower first and rendering out with upper first as usual please ?

— there are 4 combinations here and would like to get it right first attempt if possible !

— If I render out all the various clips to a dump bin as ‘uncompressed ‘ jpegs I can view the folder contents when I open up the dump bin — not ideal but might do this …

Also wondering if I render out in fields ( as from camera ) then in the final comp it I add A track matt ( which is part of logo shape ) and zoom back to form part of the final logo — am I likely to get any fielding errors please as the image is resised or is AE good at handling this please ?

Also I see there is a frame blending option when rendering — can someone let me know what this one is please and might I need it to solve this please ?
